However, as mentioned above, we can get the nutrients that we need by eating a well-balanced diet. Many vegans, vegetarians and flexitarian eat a well-balanced diet that is healthy and nourishing. In fact, a vegan diet is a great diet for women. For instance, many people who eat a vegan diet get a lot of iron and other minerals. Additionally, some common vegans include broccoli, kale and berries. Some common vegetables that are not commonly associated with veganism include carrots, potatoes, cabbage, onion and green pepper. Also, most people think of tofu as a vegetarian food. However, in addition to being a great source of protein, tofu can also be a great source of vitamin B12. Tofu is a soy product made from the curds that are left after soybeans are made into soy milk.
