More Ideas Using Pears
Pears are one of my favorite fruit and I’ve been eating them for as long as I can remember. My mother used to always have them at the house because she liked how they look in the holidays. They’re so nice and easy to slice and add to many dishes. I even make a “cookies” out of them. A combination of butter, brown sugar and oats, I just add some to my favorite sandwich bread and it tastes amazing! It’s so easy, even kids can do it. I even add a little cinnamon for an extra kick. It’s all about getting creative and trying something new. I’m sure that the great thing about pears is that they’re versatile and you can use them in just about anything.
Home Recipes Using Pears
When it comes to cooking with pears, you don’t want to overdo it. If you take too long in the kitchen, they’ll begin to lose their texture and flavor. Plus, it can be hard to see what you’re doing with the peels, especially if you don’t wear glasses. Try to cut a section of pear from its base and then slice off the top and bottom. Remove the core by cutting right down the center. Then, slice the top and bottom off. Next, cut out the seeds with a knife and then remove the peel with a vegetable peeler. If you like, you can use the paring knife to cut a few small slits into the pear and then refrigerate it.

How To Store Pears
How to Store Pears Pears are typically stored in a cool, dark place with good ventilation and somewhere that is not humid. Storage at temperatures over 30 degrees Fahrenheit causes the fruit to slowly deteriorate. However, it is better to store them in the refrigerator, since that will extend their shelf life. To store pears in the refrigerator, keep them in the vegetable bin or just under the produce. Remove the stems and cut off any damaged parts. If you notice mold growing, cut it away or discard it. The pears should stay in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use them.
How to Peel Pears
Pears are a fruit with a sweet taste, they can be found in many cuisines across the globe. A wide range of recipes can be made with pears, from desserts to savory dishes. While there are many ways to peel a pear, the simplest way is to cut the pear in half lengthwise and score the flesh with a sharp knife. Next, place the pear halves on a cutting board, cut off the stem, and score the pears again with a sharp knife, starting at the top and working your way down. Once you have scored the pears and removed the stem, hold the pears firmly in place with a paper towel and pull the halves apart gently. Discard the core and peel the pears by cutting away the peel with a paring knife or sharp chef’s knife.
