All you need to make this salad is a small handful of nuts and a handful of sliced apples. So, for the apples, I’m using an organic, Honeycrisp apple. But, you can use your favorite apple. I also recommend that you make a brine for the apples. This will help keep them from turning brown. So, for the brine, I’m using honey, apple cider vinegar, and a 1/4 cup of salt. This gives the apples a nice flavor, as well as helping preserve them. Now, for the nuts, I’m using pecans. I also recommend that you toast the pecans. This will help bring out a nice flavor. So, for the nuts, I’m using pecans that have been toasted. Also, be sure to season the apples with salt and pepper. Also, you can add some pepper to the pecans. The salt will give the apples a nice flavor. It’s a bit of a juggling act to cut the apples, but it’s worth it. So, for the apples, I’m using a mandoline to make 12 thin slices. But, you can use a knife, if you like.
