Photo canvas are fun and versatile, especially if you want to add texture to your photos and have it look like it was taken outdoors. I have been working on a variety of projects recently and have used mod podge to make photo canvases. Today I want to show you how to add the texture of a photo to a canvas using mod podge.
paint brush
Now, to paint. Follow this recipe to make your own texture. Start with a canvas and a paint brush. I’m going to use a rounded edge brush with sable hog hair. You can get them at your local craft store. If you want to paint, I would start in a random spot and paint around the canvas like I’m drawing a picture. If you want to add color, go ahead and just start with the brush. I’m going to start with some brown paint. You can mix paint and water or oil, depending on the look you want. Once you’ve painted some random spots, you can now start painting with more precision. I’m going to use a more defined brush with a sable hog hair. Start in a spot and paint towards the edges. You can experiment with different brushes and paint. Use a wide brush to get that paint on the canvas. You can get a picture of the finished canvas by clicking on the link in the description.
paint color on canvas
there are times in which you need to spice up your canvas. Maybe you want to paint a different color, or maybe you want to add some texture. The easiest way to do this is with a mod podge and paint.
how to mod podge
Mod podge is a thick and sealant that allows you to stick photos or artwork to other materials. It is available at craft stores, in gallon jugs, and even in aerosol spray cans. Mod podge is the perfect glue for most projects because it doesn’t dry out and it doesn’t make a mess. Before using mod podge, wash your canvas or paper first and let it dry completely. First, wash your canvas or paper with soapy water to make sure it’s free of dust, dirt, and other debris. Then let the paper or canvas dry completely. Next, mix the mod podge in a small bowl with a brush. When it’s mixed, use a paintbrush to spread the mixture evenly over your canvas or paper. You can use a paper towel to spread the mixture around to make sure it spreads evenly. Then let the paper or canvas dry completely.

Here’s a simple, DIY project you can do to give your art some texture. All you need is a favorite piece of art, your brush, and a mod podge. Choose a piece of art that you love. Then, dab the brush on a little mod podge and brush it on your canvas. Voila! It’s a great way to personalize your art without spending a lot of money on a frame. This is a fun and easy project to add some zazz to your art.
Mod Podge Photo Collage
The pictures are pasted onto the canvas using Mod Podge glue. Once all the glue is dry, it will be time to start painting! Mod Podge is safe and non-toxic so kids will be able to help with the project too. It is an inexpensive product and is available at your local grocery store.
