Domino’s president and CEO Richard Gelfand has said that the decision to raise wages was not made in order to increase profitability, but to improve the employment standards of the workers.

The minimum wage is also different for McDonald’s franchise and store managers.

McDonald’s announced in February that the starting wage for their workers will increase to $15 per hour, starting in early 2021. McDonald’s is the first large company to announce a wage increase under the $15 Wage Act. This act mandates that fast food workers make $15 per hour, as well as pay for all tips. The increase will be phased in over three years.
