Perfectly cooked fish is firmer than overcooked ones, which means that they have a pinkish color and a shiny sheeny surface. If they curl into C shapes, this means they were cooked too long. This is a great way of telling if the shrimp had been overcauthed. (C) (C), (D) and (E) are not really correct. D is the wrong way around. C is actually the correct way. E is incorrect because it implies that the shell is already completely closed. Also, (F) is wrong because the shells are open. Lastly, I would say that (G) should be (H). The correct answer is (A). The shrimp were overcfried. They were not cooked enough.

The USDA says that the only way to measure if something is cooked to safe temperatures is to use a food tempter. If there isn‘t a safe temperature, this means the item is unsafe. To ensure that your food is safe, make sure to read the label on all items you purchase. Also, if possible, cook your meal to well above the safe cooking temperature. Why does my shrimp taste rubbery?
Rubbery shrimps are the saddest, shamefull result when cooked beyond their prime. They don’t hold that delicately snapped bite that we get when biting in to succulently cooked seafood. Instead, this shrimp loses its snap and becomes rubbery. This is why it tastes so bad. You can’t bite into it without feeling the texture of raw meat. If you want to eat something that isn’t rubber, try eating a piece of chicken. That’s what happens when you cook it too much. Chicken is a meat that has a similar texture to fish, which is what you get with cooked shrimp. Try eating chicken instead of shrimp, or vice versa. Both are delicious. And both are healthier than shrimp fried in oil.

Raw shrimp should be fresh and bright white in appearance. They should look fresh when they hit the plate. As long as they don‘t look too faded, this is a safe bet. My Blog is where i can Share my Thoughts and Ideas with Fellow Readers. http://www.nancyakirby.com/ I am a Chef, Foodie, Recipe Developer, Author and Photographer. As a former professional chef, cooking is my passion. Cooking is the art of making food come alive. There are many different types of cooking, from simple to complex. Some of us are more adventurous than others, some prefer to cook with ingredients that require little effort, while others prefer simplicity. For me, being a food lover, there is nothing better than eating delicious food that tastes good. So, whenever I’m given the opportunity, whether it be at a restaurant, a home party or a family gathering, anything that I’ve cooked, even if I don’t feel like cooking anymore, makes me happy. Even though I love to eat, sometimes I need to take a break from the culinary world to recharge my batteries. That’s why I started writing my blogs. Writing helps me to relax and unwind. Sometimes I’ll write about my life, other times I might write something that relates to food. Either way, my hope is that my writings will help others to find joy in their lives. Thanks for stopping by! A few months ago I had the pleasure of attending a conference in Chicago. During the conference, one speaker shared a story about how he was inspired to start blogging. He said that he wrote his first blog when he went to college and that it was a way to keep in touch with friends and family. Since then, he has written hundreds of posts and continues to update his blog regularly. Today, thank you to him for sharing his story. Here is his post: “I was born in New York City in 1975. At the age of 17, during a trip to Italy, which I didn’t really understand, someone gave me a book called “The Art of Eating”. It wasn’t a cookbook, although it had a few recipes. Rather, “Art of Eating” was more of a guide to eating. Basically, “The Book” was about the preparation of food, how to store food and how much food to have. What I learned from this book was that everyone has their own way of preparing food; therefore, anyone can learn how best to prepare food.” He continued, saying that since then he became a blogger and began writing about his experiences. Over the years, however, those experiences have changed. Instead of writing simply about food preparation, now he writes about a variety of topics. From the mundane to exotic, everything from how women handle their hair to how they manage their money. His blog has grown to become a source of information for people interested in food issues.
