This is my recipe for making simple steamed dumplings. They are an easy, inexpensive, and healthy way to enjoy the taste of dumplings. How to make dumplings with self rising flour
Making dumplings with self rising flour is easy and even better tasting. This is a great recipe that uses 3 ingredients. You’ll need all of these ingredients: self rising flour (1 cup), yeast (1 packet) and butter (2 tablespoons)
How to Make Homemade Dumplings
Homemade dumplings are extremely easy to make. In fact, these dumplings can even be made ahead of time and just warmed up when you need them. They will keep for several days in the refrigerator or frozen. The best way to make them is to use a homemade dough, which is made of self rising flour. If you’re not familiar with self rising flour, it’s a flour that has baking powder in it that makes the dough rise as it cooks. Homemade dumplings are incredibly versatile. They can be filled with anything from vegetables to cheese. They can be dumplings, rolls, cinnamon rolls, or buns. You can also add in nuts, spices or any other flavorings you like. To make homemade dumplings, all you need is self rising flour, vegetable shortening, salt, and a few other ingredients. First, you’re going to need to combine the ingredients in a mixing bowl. The next step is to add a little shortening to the flour, salt, and water. Make sure that the shortening is cold. The mixture should be relatively stiff, but not completely hard. Form the dough into a ball and flatten it out onto a cutting board. You can roll out the dough as thick or as thin as you’d like. To make your dough, roll out the dough to 1/8″. How To Make Self Rising Flour
If you are looking to start baking your own bread, making dumplings is a good place to start. These are simple to make and are a good breakfast or lunchtime snack.
1 1/2 cup all purpose self rising flour
1 cup self rising flour
3/4 cup lukewarm water
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sugar
Place self rising flour in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in milk. Add oil and sugar and mix together. Gradually add the water to the flour and mix together until a dough forms. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth. Put dough in a large greased bowl and cover with a clean towel. Leave dough to rise for 1 hour.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. When pan is hot, pour the dumpling dough in and flatten with the back of a spoon. Cook for about 10 minutes each side. Remove from pan and keep warm until ready to eat.
