Grab the tails at both ends and twist and push them off the sides to split them length wise. Using a sharp knife, cut along the middle of each half. Squeeze the shells together to make a small hole and use a spoon to pour the liquid out. Then use the spoon again to squeeze all the remaining liquid back into the hole. Repeat this process until all liquid is gone. You can also use this method to clean the inside of a shell by squeezing the outside of it and pushing the inner portion outwards. This will also allow you to get rid of any air bubbles. Once you have cleaned the interior of your shell, you should be able to remove the outer shell easily.
