I am well acquainted with cast iron skillets. Since moving back to Manhattan, this is the skillet I have used more than any other. I like the ability to throw whatever I’m making in this skillet onto a regular stove and know that it will be delicious and tender. One of my favorite things to cook in this skillet are ribeye steaks.

Cooking Rib Eye Steak

There are two ways to cook rib eye steak. The first is a stove top method, where you start with a cast iron skillet. To prepare the steak, season the steak with salt and pepper. Place the steak on top of the stove and sear it on all sides for about 3-4 minutes each side. Then add the steak to the cast iron skillet and cook it for about 10 minutes on each side. When it comes time to remove the steak from the skillet, flip it over and place the steak on top of the skillet, flat side down. Cook it for another 10-15 minutes.

How To Make A Cast Iron Skillet

There are many benefits to using a cast iron skillet to cook your food. Cast iron comes from a special type of steel that is designed to endure extreme heat. That means cast iron can stand up to temperatures of 600 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes cast iron an ideal tool for making sure your food is well-cooked and browned. Cast iron heats evenly, allowing you to cook food on the stove all day long. Cast iron is non-stick, meaning it will not get stuck to your food. This is especially important when you are cooking a steak or roast. This means you can cook these foods right on the stove, without having to preheat the pan. You can make your food taste better by making sure it is cooked in cast iron. You will be able to keep your food warm longer, as cast iron has a lower surface area than other types of pans. When properly cared for, cast iron can last for many years.

Best Cast Iron Skillet for Ribeye Steak

Sometimes, a ribeye steak can be tricky to cook right. Cooks commonly use a cast iron skillet for a ribeye steak, but it’s still very important to follow the right cooking times. Don’t be afraid to let your steak rest after cooking. The resting period will help you achieve a nice, tender, juicy steak. If you over cook a ribeye steak, it will tend to dry out and have a chewy texture. If you under cook a ribeye steak, it will tend to become very tough.

Make Your Own Stainless Steel Cooking Gadgets

Buying cooking gadgets can be costly. But there are some inexpensive alternatives that you can create yourself. Stainless steel is a great alternative. Stainless steel is a type of non-reactive metal, which means that it doesn’t react with food and won’t oxidize over time. Stainless steel also has a beautiful, gleaming appearance, which is ideal for cooking and preparing food. While most stainless steel cookware is dishwasher safe, you may need to hand wash other items. It is important to make sure that the pan is not too hot when washing, and that you don’t let it sit in the sink too long. It’s also a good idea to use a plastic cutting board to make cleanup easier. If you are feeling creative, you can use Teflon tape or a similar material to create your own unique, personal cooking gadgets.
