Do you have to cook linguica?

You don’t have any reason to worry about cooking linguice, unless you’re planning to eat the sausage raw. If you want to make it ahead of time, you’ll need to slice it thinly, which will allow it to absorb the spices without burning. But if it comes out of your kitchen already cooked, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy it. And if all you do is eat raw, what’s the harm in that? The only real problem is that the Spanish version is much drier than the Portuguese version, making it difficult to cut properly. This is especially true if the meat is tough and chewy. You can always add some water to loosen the texture, though. Just remember to keep the heat low enough so the liquid doesn’t boil off. Also, be sure to drain the fat well.

[the answer is] [it depends on] how hot the pan is, whether the langa is soft or hard, & how big the pot is. If you are going to boil them all at once, you might want something bigger than a tea pot. Also, if there is any chance that the language will be used after boiling, don’t let it boil too long. That will cause the skin to split. And remember, this is the time to add the water. When you add water, wait until the liquid comes to room temperature. Don’t add more water until you see the skins start to break apart. Once the leaves are nearly dry, put them in cold water to stop the cooking process. After the leaf is completely dry and the flesh is almost falling off, remove the stems and cut the fruit into bite size pieces. Put them back in warm water for 30 minutes to an hour to soften them. Remove the seeds and discard them.] The above is my paraphrase of what I said in my original post. I hope you enjoyed it. Please feel free to comment and ask questions. Thanks! P.S. Sorry for my English. My mother tongue is Spanish. šŸ™‚ PS. To those who asked about the recipe, I am going right now to cook some lingos.
