To do this, you simply remove all the outer husks from the ears of corn. Then, place the ear in hot water until the kernels swell, about 10 minutes. Remove the kernel from water and place it in cold water (about 2 degrees below zero), and drain the excess water off. Now you will need to put the whole ear of fresh corn in large pan, cover with enough water, set over high heat, bring to simmer, turn down the burner, wait until there is only a little water left in bottom of pan. Pour the remaining water out, pour the entire ear into the pan and cover tightly. Set over low heat and cook slowly for about 30 minutes, until tender. After 30 min., remove from heat. If you want to steam the same ear again, repeat the above steps, except this time, after removing the last husky, carefully remove it and put it back in heated water for 5 minutes while the rest of grain is cooking. When the second ear is done, remove both ears from pot and set aside. You can either steam two ears at a time or steam one ear and serve it with the other.
