How to use a skillet for pan cooking
You don’t need to use a lot of fancy equipment to cook salmon well. And if you have a cast iron skillet, then you’re all set. The best thing about cast iron is that it conducts heat very well, so it’s perfect for searing meats. You can use a skillet to cook any piece of meat, but we’re going to focus on salmon in this video. In a skillet, you can sear the outside of the salmon. And then, you can finish cooking the salmon by simply adding liquid to the skillet. And, the beauty of it is that it cooks in its own juices. It’s known as pan-searing because it’s cooked in the same pan that it was seared in.
How long to bake salmon
Once you’ve prepared your salmon, place it in the pan and brush the skin with olive oil. Spread your mustard over the top and season with salt. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
