The crockpot is one of the most popular kitchen appliances used to prepare home-cooked meals. The idea behind a crockpot is that the oven is turned off and the food is cooked all day in the crockpot, usually overnight. The crockpot is usually made from enameled cast iron or stainless steel, and a lid allows the food to cook unattended for hours. There are several different models of crockpot available, including some that contain a built-in digital timer.

Ingredients

Ingredients:
– 2 chicken thighs
– 1 small onion
– 1 small green pepper
– 1 small zucchini
– 2 garlic cloves
– 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 package Mexican-style cheese blend
– 2 cups chicken broth
– 1 package corn tortillas
– 2 pinches kosher salt
– 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
– 1 can black beans
– 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
– 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
– 2 cups hot water
[Variables]: 3.5-5.5 lbs chicken – depending on how much chicken you want
– 1 small onion

– 1 package corn tortillas

– 2 cups hot water

Procedure

1. Wash chicken and cut into small pieces. 2. Place chicken in crockpot and add broth, onions, tomatoes, chilies, garlic, and salt to taste. 3. Cook on low for about 3-4 hours, or until chicken is done. 4. After cooking, take chicken out of crockpot and put back on stove. 5. Chop chicken and set aside. 6. In a large stock pot or dutch oven, add oil. Heat oil and saute garlic, onions, and tomatoes until softened. 7. Add seasoning and chicken back into pot, cover and let simmer for 30 minutes. 8. Pour in red wine and continue to simmer until wine has evaporated. 9. Add remaining ingredients and chicken back into pot and serve with tortillas.

Cooking Time

Cooking is an art. However, it is not an exact science. When cooking something you will want to know how long it will take for your soup or stew to cook. Here is a general guideline of the time it takes to cook a meal in a crockpot. Ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef, 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 1 cup of diced tomatoes, 1 cup of broth, 1 15.5 ounce can of black beans, 1 small onion, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1 teaspoon of ground coriander, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper, and 2 teaspoons of taco seasoning. Directions: Put all ingredients in a crockpot, turn the heat to high, and cook for 6 hours on low. Let stand overnight and enjoy.

What To Put In The Crockpot

This recipe is pretty simple and I used a basic taco seasoning. In a slow cooker, you want to cook the chicken in the crockpot for about 4 hours. Then place it in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours to get it nice and cold. In the meantime, you can make your mexican chicken soup, which is a staple of Southwestern cooking.
