Cotton candy is a tasty treat made from a sugar syrup and cornstarch mixture that is then colored with cotton candy coloring. It has a long history, having been eaten by the people of Mexico, North America, and Europe. In the 19th century, manufacturers began to produce it in large quantities. In 1923, Edy’s, a brand of ice cream popular in the United States, introduced its own version of cotton candy ice cream. It quickly became a favorite treat. Nowadays, cotton candy is often made with blue colorants. Blue cornstarch is often used, which makes the cotton candy blue.

Introduction
Here is a typical bluebell ice cream. We had this ice cream on our menu for quite a while. It was named after the bluebell flowers that grow in the area. The ice cream was kind of a combination of some of the recipes that we use on this site. This was a really cool flavor. I remember first making it because it is made with fresh bluebell flowers. You probably remember seeing this flavor around, but I’m not sure when we had it last.
How To Make It
Cotton candy blue bell ice cream can be made in a food processor. Take 1/3 cup of dry, powdered sugar, 1/3 cup of powdered milk and 1/3 cup of cocoa powder. Add 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream and 2 cups of condensed milk. Add 3/4 cup of water and 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips. Process in food processor until smooth and refrigerate overnight.
Notes
The bell refers to the mold used to make the bell that originally packaged this ice cream, and the blue refers to the color of the cheese in the ice cream.
